Worthing Thunder Basketball Club is delighted to announce the signing of Greek shooting guard Samson Soulis.
Soulis comes to the south-coast from Greek third division side Keravnos Aigiou, where he averaged 9.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists a game last season.
The 22-year-old has the necessary international clearance and will be making his debut on Saturday when Worthing take on Leicester Warriors in the team’s NBL Division 1 season opener.
“I feel excited to play in the UK and especially with a team like Worthing Thunder,” Soulis said. “It's an honour also to play with Coach D and players like Zaire Taylor, Jasper Chiwuzie and all the other guys as they're older than me and some more experienced especially in UK style of basketball.
“I'm ready to wear the Worthing jersey and represent Worthing and give it all I got.”
Coach D added: “Samson is a huge addition to the squad, he brings his tough defence and great athletic ability which compliments what we are trying to achieve.
‘He also has experience in playing third division in Greece so I'm looking forward to great things from him.”
