Thunder look to tame Magic in regular season finale For Worthing Thunder, the plan on Saturday is simple: Beat Manchester Magic in their final NBL Division 1 encounter at the Worthing Leisure Centre. This rearranged fixture will be the only game played in the league as it is the only one left to be played following the postponement due to severe weather in early March. For Magic, their fate is confirmed as they have finished in eighth place and will travel to top-seeded Loughborough Student Riders in the first round of the playoffs. But for Thunder, they simply need to beat Manchester on Saturday to finish fourth and secure home-court advantage in the first round, where they would face Team Northumbria. If Thunder were to lose to the Magic then they would end up in fifth where they travel to Newcastle themselves to face Team Northumbria. “We have a great home record, you could say we have made the Worthing Leisure Centre a fortress, but none of that matters on the day of the game,” said Coach D. “Manchester are a strong team that are very well coached and will capitalise on any mistake you make so we will have to be on our guard in order to get the win.” The game at the Worthing Leisure Centre tips-off at 7:30 pm on Saturday night.
